Spiritual Itinerary: A Six Month Prayer Guide

This “Spiritual Itinerary on Peace” is a simple companion for prayer, reflection, and action across the liturgical year, rooted in the Word of God and the rich tradition of Catholic Social Teaching. Month by month, it explores how Christ, the Prince of Peace, invites us to grow in peace at every level of life: personal, interpersonal, social, economic, political, and ecological. Each guide follows a common pattern: a brief theme introduction, a call to reflection using Bible passages and Church teaching, a testimony or “voice of the poor,” an international or contextual focus, concrete attitudes or actions to nourish peace, and space for group sharing, art, and music.

From Advent to the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the itinerary moves from contemplating the Nativity and the “peaceable kingdom,” through social and political reconciliation, education and inclusion, inner peace (with special attention to young people), care for creation, the witness of Sophie and other peacemakers, and the Christian duty to foster human rights and dialogue. In this way, it seeks to help individuals and communities “widen their hearts,” listen to the cries of those who suffer, and open themselves to the Spirit who makes peace possible in our world today.
